Can I move my dog to Hawaii?
Hawaii import law states that all dogs coming into Hawaii (All dogs arrive through Honolulu International Airport) must meet the requirements for the dog quarantine program. Note: Any dog that is qualified for the quick 5 Day program is qualified for Direct Airport Release. Why such strict rules? Hawaii is the only state in the US that is rabies-free.
How much does it cost to ship a dog to Hawaii?
It can cost anywhere from $250 to over $1,000 per dog depending on the dog size, where you’re departing from, if your dog needs a custom crate, etc. Direct Release at the airport is $185 per pet, it’s $244 for the 5 Day-or-Less program, and $1,761 for the full 120-day quarantine. Owners of pets in transit are charged the following fees: $45.00 registration/record fee and $14.30 per day.
How do I import my dog to Hawaii?
To qualify for the direct airport release and avoid quarantine, pet owners must start preparing months in advance:
All dogs are required to have a microchip implanted for identification.
All dogs will need two rabies in their lifetime.
All pets will need to complete the Hawaiian AQS 279 import permit
