Please note: Active duty U.S. military personnel on Permanent Change of Station (PCS) along with their spouses, and the State Department Foreign Service Personnel FSP and their spouses are permitted specific benefits for relocating their pet dogs and cats when traveling on duty from and to international destinations.
All pets entering Australia, except those from Norfolk Island or New Zealand are subject to 10 days of quarantine at the Mickleham Quarantine Facility at Melbourne, Australia. Here is a brief outline of the requirements:
- Pet Microchip
- Rabies Vaccination
- Blood Test for Rabies / Antibodies
- General Pet Vaccinations
- Ten days quarantine from the US
- Additional blood tests required for dogs
- Import Permit and quarantine reservation
- Before your pet can enter quarantine in Australia, (180) days must elapse from the date of approved blood test results.
